heartaches...
Tonight, my heart aches.....
it aches for my brother who's in the waiting room at a hospital waiting for his wife to get out of surgery.
it aches for my sister-in-law who lost a baby tonight.
it aches for my mother who still isn't a grandma, but who's been ready and wanting to be one for years.
it aches for one of my best friends to just be nearer than she is (why so much distance between NYC and MPLS?)
If you're one who prays and happens to stumble upon this....please pray for my family.

Adventures in Montucky....
So, I'm back at my parents' place for a week or so.....so that means that funny things are always happening.
So far...the greatest line was from Dad. We were watching Sleepless in Seattle the other night and at the end where Tom Hanks gets on one elevator, and Meg Ryan gets off the other, Dad exclaims, "Oh no! This isn't going to be one of THOSE movies is it????" I just had to laugh...and tell him to wait and see. He was happy to see that they ended up together in the end :)
My mother and her 80 year-old friend watch Days of Our Lives every day...and discuss the ins and outs of soap opera plots...i.e. "I knew Rafe wasn't going to get on that plane! They're too fun to watch together!"
....and then mom answers the questions posed to her from the ever inquisitive commercial voice-over guy.
Stay tuned for a paragraph or two about the gems I uncovered when I found a box of pictures from high school...and my yearbooks. Priceless.

only me....
So, there's this great scene in Role Models where Augie and Danny go to a LAIRD event. And Kuzzik is going on and on and on about who knows what and he ends it by loudly saying "RUB A DUB DUB!" and walking away. and it's the funniest thing in the world because, really....how awkward is that???
So, my best friend and I think it's really funny to say it to each other. So, I sent her a text message on Saturday; all it said was "Rub a dub dub!" No explanation needed because it's SO FUNNY!!!!
Well, my phone was bouncing around in the bottom of my purse....and I forwarded the text to a girl that I was friends with in college but haven't really kept in great contact with...I forwarded said text to a girl I'm not really friends with 100 TIMES IN 10 MINUTES!!!!
....fml.

It's just a good day to be a little lazy....listen to good music. Maybe watch a movie. A good day to regroup before the week begins again.
The only thing that would make it better is if the weekend had included an all-nighter at Perkins. I wish those would happen once in a while again. Hey, Dr_Dave, come here and go to Perkins with me!
